Notes from the Field: Strategies toward Cultural Transformation

Belden Paulson is recognized for his contributions to urban education, sustainable living, future studies, community development, and refugee resettlement.
Notes from the Field: Strategies toward Cultural Transformation is a casebook in problem solving featuring key sections of material from works he had published over the last sixty years. Given the diversity of the source material, strong copyediting was key to achieving stylistic consistency; reproducing excerpts of the original printed pieces as graphic elements was a way to honor Belden’s previous work. The varied graphic and type styles really give the book a sense of time and perspective.

Because Belden was not interested in spending his time promoting
Notes from the Field, we took the pressure off by working with CreateSpace, an on-demand, online publisher. We simply uploaded our files to CreateSpace to have the book printed and offered for sale at Amazon.com. The benefits: lower up-front costs and fewer books stored in the basement.

7 x 9; 384 pages; softcover with matte laminate; black-and-white interior; on-demand printing through CreateSpace at Amazon.com.
