About Face

Jan Serr is an internationally recognized artist. In 2011, Jan and her husband, John Shannon, approached us about producing a book to accompany a retrospective of Jan’s work to be held at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. Deadline sensitive, Jan and I worked with photographers to document Jan’s work even as she continued to paint. John, at the time a corporate president, brought his passion for books to the project, making suggestions that at every step in the process raised the bar and made the book, About Face, better. I brought in Jim Price, from Market Engineers, to help color correct some particularly complex digital images. In record time, we produced both hard- and softcover versions on 100# matte-coated stock with a gloss varnish on the artwork. Looks great.

10 x 8.5; 96 pages; two editions produced: hardcover with jacket, and softcover with French folds; 4- color plus spot-varnish interior; offset lithography; Smythe-sewn binding.
